The easiest way to sharpen scissors though is to use them to cut sandpaper (fold the sandpaper so the abrasive side faces out on either side) cutting narrow strips off a single sheet, and then moving up to finer grits. For most scissors a single #240 and then #400 grit sheet will do the trick.
